Conservation
Our lands are disappearing at an alarming rate. In the United States, we lose roughly 150 acres of natural land and 40 acres of farmland every hour. That’s the equivalent of losing more than the entirety of Grand Canyon National Park every year. Once that land is gone, we can’t get it back.
Without Conservation
With every acre of land lost to poorly planned development, we diminish our connection to nature, wipe out family farms and ranches, destroy valuable wildlife habitats, and rob future generations of access to nature. However, every piece of natural land that we protect means less carbon dioxide being pumped into the air we breathe, healthier soil for our crops, cleaner water from our taps, and more protected habitats for plants and wildlife.
You can help natural and working lands.
The challenges facing our planet can seem too big for any one person: wildfire and extreme weather events, polluted air and water, rising seas, fractured communities and habitat loss for plants and animals. But it’s not too late to act now.
