Monetary donations are used to support acquisitions of land and easements, stewardship of those properties, and administrative costs. Our costs—even if land is donated—include property appraisals, environmental assessments, attorney’s fees, realtor commissions, taxes, insurance, upkeep, environmental restoration work, etc. This obligation to steward the land and its environmental conditions continues in perpetuity. Endowments to support permanent land protection and stewardship are especially valuable to our ongoing work.
